Course on National Accounts
May 16 - 20, 2022
Videoconference
This course was held in a virtual format, from May 16 to 20, 2022, and was co-sponsored by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography of Mexico (INEGI). The objective of the course was to understand the methodology of the System of National Accounts 2008, and to identify the necessary inputs and processes for the production of said accounts, considering the experience of Mexico and other countries in the region.
The course was attended by more than 180 compilers and analysts, from 19 countries – both Spanish and English-speaking. In addition to the speakers from INEGI, there were presentations by experts from Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Uruguay, Costa Rica and Ecuador, which favored the exchange of ideas and experiences among the participants.
The course agenda covered the overview of the System of National Accounts, the main sources of information for the System, annual accounts, quarterly and monthly indicators, satellite accounts and other extensions - such as the digital economy and regional accounts - as well of some aspects considered for the update of the National Accounts System Manual scheduled for 2025.
