2025 Latin American Journal of Central Banking (LAJCB)
Conference

May 22 - 23, 2025, Face-to-face

The 2025 Conference will be its third edition and seeks to strengthen CEMLA's efforts to position the Latin American Journal of Central Banking (LAJCB) as one of the most attractive and influential central banking journals in the profession. Although the journal is relatively young with its first volume in 2020, it has been indexed by Scopus and Web of Science, the two most selective bibliographic databases in academia, reflecting the rapid positioning of the journal among the most relevant in central banking. In this sense, this Conference has proven to be a useful transit route for quality research papers accepted by a renowned scientific committee to be channeled by their authors to the journal's editorial process. The objective of positioning the LAJCB is central to CEMLA's work and, therefore, transversal to its substantive areas.

As usual in other events organized by CEMLA, this Conference offers a unique opportunity to hear from leading academics and policy makers on recent issues associated with central banking. In 2023, CEMLA featured keynote speakers Charles Bean (London School of Economics) and Vincent Reinhart (Mellon), who focused on the past, present and future of unconventional monetary policies adopted in advanced economies. For 2024, keynote speakers included Allen Berger (University of South Carolina), David Argente (Yale University) and Eric Powers (University of South Carolina), whose presentations were undoubtedly of interest to CEMLA Member central banks. The conference has also allowed for feedback through comments and exchange of ideas between researchers from the membership and researchers from other leading institutions, which has led to higher quality research work in its final form from the participating researchers.
